She had a really tough day at school yesterday, she's really missing daddy. her teachers said that she would say, "i dont know where he is? he's not coming back!" I think she keeps expecting him to come home every night and then he doesn't. everyday penny brings home a new letter that her teachers have helped her write when she gets sad at school. This was yesterdays letter.
So sad. Even though the kids have talked to doug a few times, he is going to call her every night he's able to facetime. she loves that. i also showed her a map and where we live and where our grandmas live and where daddy is staying right now. i gave her the name New York so now she knows. we're also going to make a chain or get a calendar or some stacking blocks so she can take one off everyday and see it getting smaller. i thought about that at the beginning but it seemed like soooo many links the chain would have been more depressing than anything. hahaha. We've also been saying that he will be home before her birthday which is totally true. does she know her birthday is two months away? probably not. but she sure likes saying that her daddy will be home for her birthday!
yes, yes, i'm probably two weeks late on this stuff.
Speaking of birthdays i sent doug some Brownies from this bakeshop in Brooklyn called Baked.
They did not make it for his actual birthday but this is what they look like. i ordered 6 bakers choice brownies. they're all made to order and doug said they are A-mazing!
As for the show, everything is going fine. pre production seems like a giant tangle of things that you have to smooth out in order to start shooting. they are in the detangling phase.
but i know doug is really excited about the NY crew that he hired. he took meetings and interviewed a bunch of key players and is super happy so far. and he loves the production designer. that was a crucial one.
go dougy go!!

That letter is so sweet.......and sad. The brownies look heavenly, I might just have to go make some and pretend they're as good as those.
